I thank you, Logan, for your gift of friendship and your gift of writing with me.   It was an honor as it will always be. What was, is now again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Princess:
Sir I knock here on your door,
Guardian:
i answer your knock with a smile
Princess:
Yesterday I felt you here, sir
Guardian:
and today, you were in my thoughts
as we are bound in a circle neverending
Princess:
And bound I was by needing you,
Knowing that you felt and would come
Guardian:
as a whisper on the wind called out your pain
Princess:
Ohh...I knew you would come and here you stand
Guardian:
as was before and ever is
when i hear your name
or feel your pain
to lift you up and brush you off
Princess:
Is pain a more noble thing, dear sir
I ask your guidance true
Guardian:
to feel pain is to have lived life, as all life has pain
the pain has us appreciate the goodness that follows in its path
we live on the side of the mountain, fair maid
the peak is the ectasy, the valley the depths of despair
Princess:
I live among the despairing valleys, sir
And the ecstasies are far out of reach
Guardian:
then the sun is for you to seek
to wash the gloom from your aching heart
as you called my name, my hand decends
Princess:
Guardian, you know this lady well,
Although your eyes have only noticed me in dreams or such
Guardian:
but my soul is what feels and hears the soft sighs
to reach beyond the words, to warm the very depths
Princess:
Then I know you've followed me as I plunged,
A lesson awaiting for me there,
Guardian:
to chase the coldness away from within
to feel the warmth reach the lips, to curl into a smile
Princess:
And now I smile through my tears,
For fears that you have taken
Guardian:
and a soft laugh bubbles like water over the rock
a silvery sound to lighten the soul
as the past is left behind to trouble no more
Princess:
I receive your laughter,
Guardian:
the gloom of the valley falls prey to the golden rays
Princess:
And your smile, it guides my soul.
Snowdwen:
It has been a pleasure talking to you, reading your work, and to know you're reading mine. Thank you for your kind words all around.
Angelswing:
My Guardian knows me well and offers a gentle place to rest my head.  A wonderful friend and I hope to do more of this with him in the future as he doesn't write poetry often.   Thank you for your kindness.
Dare is as Dare does, after I clear my head
of my own personal sexual metaphor. I can feel the pull the two of you entwinded together to make a very good poem; true wordsmiths you both are.
there is always an element of pain in any relationship,  but sometimes you just gotta take that chance!
