The BAG Monster
~*Marge Tindal*~

Mid-of-night
Dread of sound
Seems VannaBird
a bag has found
Stepping lightly
cross the room
bag attached
Doom does loom
SQUAWK !
Run ...
the bag monster
attached to claw
SQUAWK !
Run ...
monsters lurk
in plastic quirk
Run ...
MOMMA !
MOMMA !

Set me free ...
Bag of sheer - monstrosity !
Whew ! ... relief
back on perch
sleep of night
bag in lurch
Momma stands the watch
WIDE AWAKE
No more monsters can she take ! !

*Laughing at the tom-foolery of one of my birds
trying to run through the house with a little plastic bag
caught on her claw ..... and MYSTERIA~
STOP LAUGHING !

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Ohh..Now Marge..
THIS is adorable and funny.

At first I thought you might be talking about a cat when I read the title.

Your lighthearted work always makes me smile, and I need as many of those right this moment as I can get.

"Ah...Home At Last - Sigh!"

"Oh well...Another Day, Another Bag!"

I can't stop laughing! I can still see poor Vanna, flapping around the whole house, with the plastic bag on her foot, squawking, "MOM, help me!  I'm bagged, and I want to go to bed too!
Oh my goodness, this is my laugh of the year!

During my avian biology classes I learned that birds have odd duck personalities. Yours must be at the peak of duckieness. Funny marge. J

She is a sweet little thing ..
and she talks up a storm.
VannaBird won't be spending too much time
in my shopping bags again, I think.

JBowie~
Love your response.
She's quite the 'duckie', alright !
Thanks for the info ... I learn something new with each endeavor.

Oh, Margie gal... thanks for the grins this gave! LOL. I'm glad Vanna is safe from the bag monster... but understand Mom's inability to go back to sleep. A stray cat came onto my balcony a couple of weeks ago and started trying to fight my kitties through the glass door... I finally got the intruder to leave... and then I watched dawn visit as my girls snoozed peacefully, enjoying the sleep that eluded me. *S*

For a moment, I thought it was going to be about a cat....

which brings me to my short short, about my parakeet Chico....who always loved to dive-bomb our cats on a dare....

dumb bird!

Margie girl, I love this one, it brought such a grin. I'm having a lighthearted day today. I love the vision this brings to my eyes, I have a cockatiel, that is just mad, he is just as reckless as Vanna. (He's called Magic, because he brings a grin by magic)

Absolutely fabulous writing from you my sweet poetic sister. When the mouth droops as all our mouths do you manage to give me a lift. Thank you dear heart
Take care love as always

The faster VannaBird ran, the larger the plastic bag billowed.
She was a sight to see.

Margie girl...I didn't know you were a bird lady too.  I have always been...but am down to three now.  Two in the Birdie Condo outside and one at the flower shop, a parrot named Max.  This poem is wonderful, my friend...worth every moment it kept you awake.  Thanks and hugs!

Well thank you for the rise to the top so our friend Martie could see it ! !
I would hope that many get a chuckle out of it.

Yes ... are we even more akin or what ???
I have an African Gray, the Red Lored, a Quaker, a Parrolet, a Cockatiel, a Half-Moon Conure, four Love Birds and two Parakeets.

Names - Holy Tara, VannaBird, Seminole, Poppie, Billie Rayette, Kiwi, Batman, Rainbow, JustABird, Trace and Retrace, and Caboose.

I also have the porch condo and a cacaphony of sound as they compete with talking to each other.
They are such amusement.

Glad to hug another bird lady !

Thank you for enjoying the antics of VannaBird !
She hasn't gotten off her perch
since that frightful BAG Monster grabbed her.
But today, she started talking and singing again.

KelliKay~
Thanks, hon !
And if you could have seen her, you'd laugh even harder.
She'd run and squawk ... roll over on her back and squawk ...
get up and run ... and squawk !
I'd try to catch up to her and off she'd run with that bag billowing bigger and bigger.

*Thanks to all of you for sharing in her plight !
She's a sweetie AND she talks up a storm !

Dear Marge:  Thanks for sending this to me. Boy it's impossible to go back to sleep once you have been startled awake.  Poor Vanna!  It must still give her nightmares! I got a good laugh out of this one!
