~*~  A Dream of Camelot  ~*~

~*~

The curtains of evening are drawn,
The sparkle has left the stream.
Villagers to bed have gone,
On pillows to sweetly dream.

Through this night until the dawn,
The moon will until it wanes,
Watch the children as they dream,
Through the windowpanes.

The fairies in the garden play,
As the elves sweep up the mist.
Dragonflies spread out their wings.
For morning's sun to be kissed.

Silently through the woods at night,
The lonely sparrow flys so near.
A constant shadow by her side.
The lovely Queen Guinevere.

Soon the mists will clear away,
And before the light they run,
The spiders in the hedgerows,
And all their webs are spun.

Soon the dawn beyond yon cloud,
Will lighten up the sky,
All the birds will sing again,
But still his Queen will cry.

The night now gone, the shadows too,
But look in yonder bower,
Is that the brave Sir Lancelot,
Handing m’lady a flower?

As daybreak comes, I must awaken,
Another day birthing its start,
But I hold dear my dream again,
Of Guinevere’s aching heart.

All through the day I daydream,
Drifting to Camelot and my knight,
Imagining I am Queen Guinevere,
Planning my dream for tonight.

The beauty of this brought tears to my eyes. I have seen this picture before and many other beautiful ones from the same artist. You capture this well. I only wish I could do the same.

Mysteria~
'meager poems' ? ?
I think more 'majestic' ....

Well, here I am in 'birdland' ...
and you're writing one of your loveliest pieces to date.

No fluff ... this is wonderfully done !
Gently ... oh, so gently.
Beautiful, dear poetess.

Denise and Kit: I should have lived in Camelot, but with my luck I would not have been the Queen, but instead the jester! lol, thank you both for reading.
