Clouds...
floating lazily up the misty channel...
Kissing the tops of still snowy mountains,
then dipping back down...
To drink,
from the deep green glacial waters...

They’re peaceful somehow...like a blanket,
masking our world from the searing sun...
Today, they are dripping a soft rain,
on the newly blossomed tulips...
Washing the brightness back to the brilliant hues,
that were dulled by traffic dust...

I always enjoyed clouds...
Their shapes providing my imagination with stuff,
to dream on...
Different shapes, always changing, nothing permanent...
They taught me, early on, to welcome change...
To jump right in , then shape the changes to fit my world...

Clouds...comforting on days when the sun just wouldn’t fit...
They comforted me on the day my Grandmother died...
And on the day my dog, Sara, went to sleep,
with her dear head in my lap...
The sun would have dried the tears,
that I needed to shed...

The clouds have always been there...
They caress the earth with fingers of mist,
moving and changing as she spins...
Sometimes dangerous...sometimes destructive...
But always natural...
Always just out of reach of man’s power...
Aloft...

Aloof...

and rising...

Above...

Live...Love...Be grateful for both!!

SunnyOne~
Really a wonderfully written piece.

'Clouds...

Kissing the tops of still snowy mountains,
then dipping back down...
To drink,
from the deep green glacial waters...'

This is soooooooooo pretty -
LOVE that 'deep green glacial' water !

Oh I loved this!  I live atop a mountain where I feel sometimes I can almost reach the clouds if I stretch, and you described them perfectly!

Exquisite piece, Sunnyone, with powerful images and wondrous food for thought.  I love the line about the clouds being just out of reach of mankind.

Hi Walker...
yes, you have the imagination that would appreciate the stuff clouds are made of!!  Thank you!!

Hi Kathleen...
Thank you...I love the images that Mother Nature gives us in her everyday labors!!

Hi Marge...
The water here where I live is colored from the glaciers surrounding the area. It is deep emerald green, and quite beautiful!!
Thank you, my friend!!

Hi Rain...
Oh, thank you...it is so nice to find that your friends appreciate your efforts!!

Hi Mysteria...
It sounds as though your home is similar to mine in looks...and we are neighbors, you know!! Thank you!!

Hi Krawdad...
yes, they are, aren't they?  Thank you for joining me in a little cloud-watching today!!

Hi VAS...
I am glad that they stay above man's reach, as we manage to mess up most everything that we get our hands on!!  Thank you, my friend!!
