             Slow down

Slow down and sense your life bouquet
For wasted time your loss.
And do not stare and dream the day
Or it will turn to moss

Use the present it has not set
The past has flown and gone.
The future has no life as yet
It waits its moments dawn.

Just feel the presence of the day
Hear its life all around.
It's there to hear in every way
In the sky and on ground.

Slow down make time, hold out your hand
And seek the touch of store.
Slow down make use your hours sand
Before there is no more.

It's in the wind each moving breeze
It echoes like a fife.
It plays the limbs of swaying trees
It is the sound of life.                                                                                                                                                       Slow down and sense your life bouquet
For all our feet are made of clay.

and I do so love the footprints your feet of clay leave on me heart
once again your wisdom gives us a lesson of life wrapped in rhyme divine.

its the fall from the height.

You express in this poem what I try so hard to live...

Reminds me of something my Father wrote before he passed away..

Once a boy looked at a mountain
and he dreamed that he could climb
yet the mountain trembled and replied
"Take your time"

But the boy had to climb to the highest peak
just because the mountain was there
and a howling wind, made his legs grow weak,
but the mountain didn't care.

Now he's burried on the mountain
and his epitapth subline reads:
"here lies a man who climbed to fast but now
at last, He takes his time"

a bit more gloomy but same theme...great poem you wrote.

Until you are are near it, you will never see it, until you live it you will never know it...this is why we must not judge it.

JM,
You know if you slow down enough you wind up in dream. And that's where I think I am at the moment. Full circle. Winkiewinkie Stinky

Thank you for the words on my reply. My Father wrote that poem before he died in 1986. Much of what I admired about him was in his writing...

Your poem seemed to bring it all back!
