the farthest hold
so long ago
its not for me
not for this time
its impatient now
wanting its out
to help its willing
to leave me alone

and so my father
when will you trust me
to die for you
and make it worth all the pain
you suffered and regret this day
don’t you, know that you’ve been
the lasting joke

it was a night
much like this night
that you refused
anything to do
with my pain
my own refrain
you walked your way
and never stayed

long enough to see me grow and
get strong, it wasn’t what you wanted
all along , you were always heading
away from this place
those sacrifices that you could not take
made into my own problems
that now I’ve released them
and its over
so my father
when will you trust me
to die for and give me your pain
I’ve suffered long enough now its your turn
to live and die for your son that's still here
don’t you know you’ve been the wrong joke

Michael, you have poured your heart in this poem. If I read it right, you are looking for acceptance from someone who doesn't care about anyone, but themselves.  And you still put your heart out there to be abused.  You are the strong one to be able to try and try again.  Many hugs,  ME

this is like a poetic condensed version of your touching prose...
and like it I am moved by your words...
heal in the release Michael, write it out and let it go as much a our hearts ever can let these kinds of ties go...
while we may never understand the reasons..
we at some point have to realize it is their shortcomings...NOT anything we are lacking...
tho so often we take the burden and pay for sins that are not ours.
heal in your own light MG, it shines in every word you write and in the eyes of your own children.

We wish ourselves beautiful,
we cry in the night.
Its not the love you fear ...
its the fall from the height.

A saddened response to your words...I understand.  Wish I didn't.

He has missed a great deal of things in your life over the years.  But his weakness is now your strength and one day ( I think very soon) when he see's your name on your first book...It will hit him like nothing has ever hit him before.  You are a strong person, and that came from you.
