Under the moon you go running
for the man you call your lover.
And you'll find out that he's floating
       in the Devil's sacred water.
And your sore heart won't condone it
while your heavy mind is weak.
       And you'll secretly be crying
       while you're acting so discreet.

       Chorus:
My hat's off to you my friend
he's running round but you find him again.
you're moon running in your loyal trend
while I'm here dying for you to leave him

So you search outside your crying
       to bring him back again.
Smoke filled rooms are the climate
       you'll find him hiding in.
And you know he could be lying
       sweet words that smother sorrow.
inside his eyes he is smiling
cause you'll be with him tommorrow.

And you're sure he'll make some changes
cause he shams a happy face.
But you wind up turning pages
in the history book you hate.
And you find yourself moon running
       chasing visions while you're able
while you're tryin to live a legend
       from some ancient fairytale.

       Chorus:
My hat's off to you my friend
he's runnin round but you find him again
You're moon runnin in your loyal trend.
While I'm here dying for you to leave him.

Wow a poet and a musican. what talent you have, I too am curious to hear the backing track. I am imagining a kind of Nick Cave and the bad seeds vibe, could be because one of Nick's cds is playing on my stereo at the moment. Well what ever the music as a lyric it is damn good.

"across the unfair divide
where black will never meet white
so read my token lips
like they never exist"

Marvelously done.

'So you search outside your crying
to bring him back again. '

What a touching blue thought.
