On A Butterfly To Heaven

I wake in the hopes this day is better then the one before
But, I struggle to climb out of bed just the same
Though the sun it shines through the standing trees
In my heart it sure does feel like rain...

On this windy journey built on tears and fears
It's paved with boulders too high to pass
I try a different road one that may shed new light
And, still the memories are as sharp as a blade of grass...

Every step I take is just one more wish I cry for
And, soon the miles are solid paths untouched
So, on a butterfly to heaven I send a handful of prayers
Asking for forgiveness at heart when life seemed tough...

On it's wings of gold I ask for a little help down here
And, that yesterday lays it's hands on me
On a butterfly to heaven blessed with red like stripes
I wait the glory of beauty to set me free...

On a butterfly to heaven I ask to carry a soul to heavy to fly
And, to take to God my wish of no end
For the white butterflies touched in white so bright
May bring me valid directions to reach my friend...

They seem to carry every dream that's ever plagued this soul
Only they reach the high we're not intended to see
Lovely orange ones dashed with tiny black spots
Fly to heaven from the cries for what I used to believe...

On a butterfly to heaven carries my wish to lie in the night with you again
And, To hold your hand and soar at last
For that butterfly knows of my weight I'm too weak to hold
And, to heaven with grace it rests upon it's back...

The brown butterflies trimmed in a sunshine yellow edge
Can hold my prayers so strongly to heaven's bed
I live impatiently that she somehow hears these words
So, on the wings of nature may my heart be heard...

I can't resist a Butterfly story, each one you painted so beautifully. Each butterfly carrying your message and prayers - so touching and poetic.  Such a beautiful token I will keep. May all your butterflies fly free and soar.

(big hugggsssss) Oh Saunni, this is so heartbreaking but also so very beautiful! I love every line, especially these:

"On a butterfly to heaven carries my wish to lie in the night with you again
And, To hold your hand and soar at last
For that butterfly knows of my weight I'm too weak to hold
And, to heaven with grace it rests upon it's back..."

That line just took my breath away, it's soooooo beautiful! (smiles) I know that these handful of prayers will be held dear by our Lord and He will answer them with a smile. (smiles) Keep the faith, dear friend, and your joy will come to you! I love butterflies, and this poem took me away heavenly! (smiles) You have such a beautiful heart, dear friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
