*Gallery Lecture Hall*

when I write,
what happens?
do the words flow
from my heart
as easily as they do
from my pen?

or, do I hold back a little
wondering what you'll say?
wondering if my words
will speak to you
the way that I want them to?
or
if you'll just totally
miss the point

and,

if my words do speak to you
why?

what have I touched
in your heart or soul
that makes you respond?
what in my life can you
relate to when I tell
you my stories in rhyme
my songs in time?

or,

do you just like the way
the words fall on the page?
the way that the
nouns, verbs,
subjects, predicates,
past and present participles
flow together to make
streams of words
that flow over your soul
and wash it clean?

well, I don't know what it is
but I hope that when
you read my words
that you can see
what's really behind them. . .

Sven,

I have only been here a short time, but can say with honesty that your writing is true and spoken from your heart.  with each writing I read I can relate some part of my life to your words that fall across the page...with your touch of class, and style..   hugs to ya

Lauren~

Hi, you know, I can feel the confusion in your mind here, I feel like I relate to this a lot, because my poetry is always so overly personal. And you wonder how others take it. But you should know, your words always seem perfectly wonderful, and I think very understood.

I think your words are clearly understood and the meaning behind them. Because you write so well, it's easy to feel what your heart feels and mind thinks. This one is great.

Perhaps the reason I read everything you write...is because so often what I see is myself.  The part of me that will at death still dream of love even if I am no longer able to write of it.

Oh, yes, Sven, the perfect goal, that the reader will see what's behind the poet's words.

btw, did you find the poem I wrote to your cliché challenge?

I can relate Sven...I suppose that's why we read some and connect and others and move on...you know like shared desires, feelings, interests and experiences...James

Sven,

I relate very well to this, my friend.  I write to let others know that my feelings are so much like their own.  We all hurt, love, feel...  I write mainly to let others know that no matter what their circumstances in life there is always hope.  I'm not talking about the silly "every cloud has a silver lining" stuff.  I'm talking about the real thing.  Embrace life and it will embrace you.  You've done well here and your honesty speaks volumes about your character.  I especially appreciate this one and offer my thanks.

Remember the paintings of people that seem to be looking at you no matter where you stand in a room. Well, that is what your poetry does. It's like you reach in and take a small piece of my soul with your words. Is it because you are so good at what you do or maybe something more sinister.

I like to think I see the poet behind the words, but not just one aspect..In one word sometimes there are a million complex things..and sometimes the words carry only their one meaning. Either way, misread, I think a poet gets annoyed by it, so we're never really pleased! LOL! So..anyways. Listen to me ramble on YOUR poetry time!   So..WHY? BECAUSE...Does that help?
ROTFL! Well..you write so well I forgot to say..I LOVE THIS!

Thank you all so much for reading. . . and for your words. . . you've really surprised me. . . I'm so glad that you all can take something away with you from my writing. . . I used to think that only I could understand the things that I wrote about. . . I see now that it's not like that. . . that, while everyone may not understand what I write. . . they can relate

Thank you all again my friends. . .

Sven - I was at a loss for words when I read this writing, as I was so very touched by it. But then it came to me my friend. You, are the heart, not only of you, but the many that are here. And you write words of caring, because you are the caring. You write words of tenderness, because you are the tenderness. Sven, I could go on and on, but I think that you get the point. A more gracious writer I have never met.. And I am honored to be your friend.... Email me anytime, about anything, and I will respond..

Your friend,
BC

Loved this as well. I still often ask myself do how much of the words do I write and how much of the word writes me?...great thoughts in this poem.

Until you are are near it, you will never see it, until you live it you will never know it...this is why we must not judge it.
