Not One Regret

The sweetest thoughts I’ve ever known
Are thoughts of you when I’m alone
The thrill of love spins through my head
At midnight hour in winter’s bed

The memories warm the windy night
And fill my heart with sweet delight
As shadows of the tree limbs fall
And dance across my bedroom wall

A portrait of your face appears
In visions held throughout the years
But time has healed a spirit torn
When love was lost as life was born

Not one regret could I avowal
For having loved and loved you well

Elizabeth Santos

Indeed, not one regret should ever cross your heart, because we know you loved him well, with your all....

and still do....

Nice sonnet.
May I suggest an amendment to the final couplet?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not one regret could I you tell
For having loved and loved you well
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope I have not offended ...

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.

Superbly woven, Elizabeth.

Thanks for the vocab lesson, had never heard of the word 'avowal' before today.  Found it in my dictionary, too, heh heh heh checking up on you.

Liz,

I love sonnets and this one was certainly well constructed.  The imagery was superb and I could "see" the writer in this piece.  Most excellent!!

to feel this way is a blessing, to write about it is a gift...Thank you, Elizabeth.

I have to agree with O2beme...I find your piece, and save it to the last (kind of like dessert!), as I know I will leave the blue pages fully satisfied, having saved it for the last.  Excellent as usual, and this of course is love.
