Is it in the smaller moments, Dear?
When our bodies find the middle of the bed,
And curl around each protectively?
No cutting words to disturb the comfort?
No misinterpreted sighs to fool anger.
Are we not closer when we sleep?
So why can we not sleep,
Forever and dream ourselves a happier life?
Is it in the smaller moments,
When our feet and legs entangle beneath the sheets,
As if through all the haze of the daily grind,
And letting to of peace and passion,
We find some connection through our limbs,
Languidly transforming into blissful sighs?
Is it in the smaller moments,
When I catch a joke and smile at you?
Is it in the smaller moments when I seek to ease the tears on your shoulder,
Even if you are not readily here?
Is it in the smaller moments
When I have cooked a dinner for two although you're not here,
And when you arrive late to eat while I sleep,
Then wake me tenderly
A kiss to the forehead and a whisper,
That you enjoyed the new dish I tried for dinner?
Is it in the smaller moments?
And how do we find those again,
And how do we keep them?
Is my hope fleeting and flickering?
I fear it is,
But we're still here,
Suspended in a time where we have not time,
To dwell on each other,
And perhaps some day that will pay off,
But for now its tearing at us and our will.
And there are days and moments when I fear,
That I will not endure.
Is it in the smaller moments
When I hope as much as I do now,
That I still love you?
And is it in the smaller moments while I'm wondering,
That I realize that if I have to wonder,
Things must not be as promising.

A lot of sad truth in this, about relationships, and a lot of happy small moments, too.

Something is wrong with a society that robs itself of it's most precious resource, time.

When one still wonders if it's still there, then there is still a glimmer of hope. Love has to be a work in progress every moment. Yet it does take two to keep it going.

I have been at this very point in life, I feel we all have...sometimes the questions in life we can not answer right away, but I feel sure in time they will be answered...amazing from you...
