Tonight? I am
without form
I am Spartacus--
reborn...
a sampling
of your shadow self..
a lilting flute
of playful elf...
I am Janus
of two faces
the black-the white
of chessboard spaces--
I am all
and I am naught
I feel free
as I am caught
with the steel trap on my shin-
I chew my leg be rid of him.
I howl a song of time's forlorn...
I am Spartacus...reborn...

and I will bite my teeth to bits...
if only I be done with it...
Hang me from my heart in tether?
I swear I'll live like that forever
and but my children would I mourn...
I am Spartacus...reborn.

(*repost from open....hmmm 11, maybe?)

No ... I'm Spartacus - You gotta' love that line . Sorry, just had to say it, wonderful poem, a pleasure to read as always serenity . The theme of this poem is great, you have used the idea of Spartacus mixed with moving apart from a loved one very well .
Be proud, Thanks .
