At the top of the spiral staircase
And through to the bedroom is where I'll be
Just follow the trail of red rose petals
And you are bound to find me

The trail of petals will lead you
Through to the bathroom door
Where you will find a pile of clothing
Crumpled and left on the floor

At this point your gaze will be lead
To the bathtub with candles all around
It is underneath all of these bubbles
Where my body amongst the foam can be found

A cold glass of wine I'll be drinking
As I look at you from over my glass
A dozen red roses are seen in the mirror
As they stand tall in the crystal vase

You lean over the bath and you kiss me
So close to heaven you always make me feel
Then my eyes open wide and I'm here in my bed
It's then I realise it's a dream - not for real

I have had this dream also, what a romantic. Life has a way of waking you up sometimes.

Truely enjoyable,
inspirationally so,
hope you don't mind a little sonnet response.

Spiral up, the stairs creaking,
To bed sheets just past sleeping,
Stems and petals on the floor,
Strewn to where they weren’t before,

Fragrance now ever so slight,
Heavenly mixture of night,
Flowers and candles perfume,
Morning sun lights the room.

Closing eyes she pictures all,
Dancing shadows on the wall,
Arriving late and dreaming done,
Dreams left with the rising sun.

Spiral down the creaking stairs,
Sensations she’d hope to share

Gloom

Sounded pretty real to me.  Well done.

P.S.  If you write like this too often, there are a lotta folks here ready to follow the flower petals
