A Ride To The Nursery

We took a little drive down a country lane,
Witnessing a canvas painted by a Master.
Excited, and planning our gardens of summer.
Such color splashed everywhere in wild hysteria,
Only to be muted by the soft cotton,
Clouds on a sky so blue it seems unreal.

Spring is everywhere, grass bends softly,
From dew left by morning’s wake up call.
Birds flutter by, seeking out their mate,
How sweet are the trills and warbles,
The mating calls of nature’s summer love.
Spiders build beautiful lace tablecloths,
Laying out small a feast for passers by.

Lilacs, so magnificent, like no other fragrance,
In wafts, send out their sweet perfume,
Orchids of exotic colors, fragile and so delicate,
Awaited the eyes of astonishment,
The caress of a gentle hand.
Bees buzzed merrily, collecting their treasure,
As the Queen lays in her hammock lazily.

Wild flowers stood sentry in country ditches,
As miles of tulips and daffodils lined up in rows.
Regal roses of red, pink and yellow sent their perfumes,
And the air smelled of the most fragrant bouquet.
But it is was the rows of sunflowers, golden yellow,
Reaching with arms up stretched to the sky,
Heads bowed in prayer, that heralded Spring the most.

The title brought me in, sure glad it didn't require changing diapers.. and it brought beautiful aromas of the country side kind.
