*Gallery Special Exhibit: Selections from the First Series*

Revised for the Second Series

Hello, Poets of Passions, I'm new here
I posted my first poem with great fear
In the hope I held that you would see
The me that lies behind my poetry

First in secret, I quietly read
Letting the names and words fill my head
I never thought that I would post
For my words were nothing of which to boast

But I saw how others were welcomed with glee
And I thought, "That could be me!
I could be the one welcomed by Denise or deVine"
And so to post, I had made up my mind

Now, a name to put with my words of pen
One that was different, how about Sven?
Or Auguste, Interloper or JLR?
Maybe I could write poems to heal your scars.

I took a deep breath and began to prepare
This was the first poem I was about to share
Hit the "Submit" button when I was done
Would this poem be liked, would it be "the one"?

You read my words, and a warm welcome gave
Gave my words power and made me feel brave
It was then I knew I was no longer alone
It was then, my friends, I knew I'd found home

And it is a home, isn't it?  I still remember my first post here and some of those same thoughts went through my head.  Now I feel like I belong.  Yes, welcome to all the newbies.  The more talent, the more friends the better.  A good one here, Sven.  But then, all of your work is.

Hiya, Beautiful Heart.
I like what you've done with this one, and I think you've captured what it feels like for the newbies very well.

Well you can say one thing about being here. No one can stay new very long. This is a place to play or just sit back and watch others play. It's fun no matter what seat you take.

AD dear heart, I read this and identified with the feelings haven't we all here. To be honest I still do, not that I don't feel a part of you all I do, but I never feel as if my work is worthy of anyones time. I'm lucky in that I have some steadfast and loyal friends, and I thank you for so very much. Brilliant work love, I really do love this, you always shine brightly love.

Absolutely excellent writing, you constantly amaze me with the quality of your work, truly awesome.
Love and warm stuff as always

Denise, thank you. . . and I'm sure that I wouldn't be the same without this place. . .

Interloper, it seems like an eon ago!!  Thank you my friend. . .

Michael, you're right. . . these thoughts went through my head as well. . . that's what this one is about. . . it's a reminder that we were all Newbies at one time. . . and helps to remember that this "Family of Friends" is so much more than even we realize. . . thank you my friend. . .

Temptress, thank you. . . I try. . . and I hope that if there are more who are reading and haven't shared that first post with us yet. . .that they take that step and share with us. . . and feel what it feels like to be a part of this. . .

Songbird, you put it so well. . . we have a little sibling rivalry. . . but not so much that it takes away from being that family. . . thank you. . .

inot2B, you're absolutely right. . . sometimes it's just fun to read and look. . . thank you my friend. . .

Bubbles, everyone here is worthy of that time. . . and while we may not get to them all. . . we all try to make everyone feel welcome here. . . that's part of what being here is all about. . . thank you love, it's always nice to see you. . .

Morgoth, yep!  This is just for people like you. . . welcome my friend. . . I hope that you'll be with us for a long time to come. . . and I hope that you'll feel at home here. . . just like we do. . .
