In The Blooming

~*Marge Tindal*~

Garden to bloom in the wealth of the spring
Gifting of glorious flowers to bring
Falling away in this winter of need
Culling from blossoms, the brown fertile seed

Retreat to the plot, in corner to plant
Tilling and turning, beginning to pant
Dripping with moisture from brow of content
Sunlight has ended, the day dearly spent

Morning arousal brings sight to sore eyes
Tiny green shoots of variety rise
Hoe, Hoe, Hoeing - stay ahead of the need
to spray such poisonous stuff on a weed

Resplendent bouquet resides crystal-vased
I, in content, with sweet fragrance am faced

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

"Ain't it the truth?"  I worked 8 hours now four day in a row, and under my breath I do curse a little, but next month I shall be all smiles when those happy faces greet me in the garden and on my mantle.  This was perfecto mongo but I don't expect anything less now!

Then I pop - too pooped - to peep !

What a lovely thought !
I will do just that.
Thank you for a great suggestion.

My thumbs are soil black -
my back is sun red -
my jeans are grass green -
but my flowers are abed !

Marge,
It sounds as if you garden very well.   You sure create beautiful enough words here for us.   This is the kind of poetry I need lately. I love it.

Dear Marge:  I could almost picture you working in your garden.  You live in a wonderful area for growing flowers or anything, especially poetic thoughts!

I love this, Marge!!! *S* I'm too far away to do much but visit and help harvest now, but I used to help my Dad plant his garden... and he always acted surprised when zinnias and marigolds popped up in the midst of his peas and squash. LOL I was unrepentant... the soul needs food, too! *S*

SuthernGal~
Awwww !  What an adorable memory !
On the border of my veggie garden -
the very Zinnias of which you speak.

I also do a real good row of Speckled Butter Beans,
Crowder Peas and Big Boy Tomatoes !
Yummy !  Wish you were here to share.

SueTang~
Yes ... I also thought of your lovely verses
of your garden as I penned this.
So pleased you enjoyed it.
