~*Stairway To Heaven*~

Father, be not afraid of darkness,
it holds no fears for thee.
I knew one day you’d leave me;
no longer we’d share tea.

But do not feel sad or lonely,
for if there is such a place,
when time has past and I can at last,
I shall kiss your smiling face.

I still believe in the hereafter,
Fairies, Goblins and such,
but then I could be mistaken,
in life I’ve needed this crutch.

Let’s assume there is a stairway,
for those of us who want to get in,
up there behind some pearly gates,
for those not covered in sin.

Perhaps we don’t have to go there,
maybe we can just sit and wait,
There will be no sin, no lose or win,
just good friends to contemplate.

There will be no sun a shining,
yet the light will be so bright,
There’ll be no demons stalking,
out in the pale moon light.

The scent of roses reach out,
yet no roses will you see,
yet I know you’ll be real patient,
Once more we will share tea.

Father, together we will walk on,
Again, around the bend,
and the world will grow smaller,
as into the void we ascend.

With your usual gentle touch you have words to express our care and comfort for Kate. One can only feel saddened by this time and wish there was something more sustaining than words to offer. Thank you for doing this. ~Shalom

Sharon; You have a beautiful and loving heart, and this has touched mine in such a special way.  Katherine is a precious and cherished friend of many of ours...and I stand united with you, Julian, KoKo, and so many others reaching out to her in this time of loss in her life.
Thank you for sharing this most moving tribute with us, Sharon...I am certain it will bless Katherine and remind her that she is not alone.
Hugs and smiles to you, dawn

This is a very touching and beautiful dedication to our Katie at this time of loss.
I am so at a loss for words to share ..all seem so inadequate for her bereavement. I rember how this felt and am sad and in prayer for her. Thanks so much , Sharon for your tender heart and your wonderful talent to be expressing a poem such as this fine dedication.

I wish to thank you all for sharing your hearts for Katie, who will be needing support, kindness and love to see her through this devasting loss.  Again, I thank you all.  We have still heard no word from her as I am sure she is very busy right now, but send her our love, and rest assured she will appreciate your kindness.

I read this much earlier today but didn't have time to respond then.  Just wanted to come back and tell you what a beautiful work and deed you have created here.

Thank you all again - Kate will be going through an extremely rough time as her Mother had a near fatal health experience only two weeks ago, and also is recovering, so prayers are needed for both Kate and her Mother for the strength to see this through.  Her email address for the time being is:   hchan320@aol.com should you decide you want to send a personal note or card.  I must say, I sure can see the love in Pipps for a fellow poet, and it makes my heart warm, thank you.

Your ascension is calming
and so is your music,

Thank you

Thank you for the tremendous response of love you have shown to Kate and her Mother, and I am sure that when she touches down (as she is staying with her Mother right now), she will thank you herself.  You are all so special to care and send your fond regards.

My dear Sharon.. I don't know what to say, I'm overwhelmed by this beautiful poem and all of the support from you and the members of this poetry site. I tried to send my reply from my mother's computer, but since she is on AOL, I'm sure you can understand why I had problems. I'd written a long response and next thing I heard was 'goodbye' and I almost went through the monitor to grab my words. Mother and I are doing much better, thank you all for asking and I am in the process of packing my condo up and moving into her home where she and I will continue the loving relationship we share but now on a bigger scale. There have been so many cards and letters sent to us that it will take me forever to properly thank all the loving friends here and on other sites as well.

You are a good woman, Sharon, a fine writer and a wonderful friend to write this moving poem for mother and I. Words cannot express our gratitude and love for this pouring out of love and sympathy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart dear one..

Love and Light,

Katie

Dear Kate,

I am sure I speak for everyone when I say we send our heartfelt wishes to you and your Mother.  Thank you for the update on your situation, as a lot of people were concerned about you. I would like to wish you well in this change in your life, on behalf of everyone you so graciously sent their wishes, take care, and remember,  I am but a phone call away should you need me.
  Love, Sharon
