Paradox and Poets

Stories of arrival long since told
did it ever cross your mind
that I stayed in many ways because of you
not just in love am I blind

We are the same side of opposite coins
do you find that hard to bear
if I’d known I was crossing a line of late
I may have taken greater care

For I’ve seemingly caused you some distress
though that was never my desire
I accept your retreat as new evidence
of emotions much more dire

So I’ll simply shave a bit more Crayola
into this cocktail farce of life
toast the gods of poetry
and mix my own colors tonight

tomorrow
your color will be red
full of life
and confidence
in your head
and all that hurts
will slowly start to heal
from the scrapes of your heart
tonight you feel
helen

JLR~
In the melancholy of this ...
there is a soft beauty ~

Very vivid imagery here.
Nicely done.
