Oh the look of surprise and wonderment as she felt
the flutter inside her for the first time

At last it held reality that a life was growing with
in her with a future for her to help shape, love to
                   bind

Her little dolphin that splashed and pushed, kicked
and even hic-upped but bound inside her to grow

The time came and none to soon for room was gone,
growing was for outside, its time to go

Of course she was the most beautiful daughter, perfect in every way, loved and nurtured with care

She was creative in everything from appearance to friends, never did follow the crowd, her oneness to share

Years go by, the growing never ends, the flexing of wings sometimes smooth, others battered

But always allowed to do it her way no matter how deed or word sometimes left parents shattered

Then once again, that look of surprise, the flutter from within, the growing of new life

All wanting the best in health, wealth and love to give this new member and shield from strife

She met the world head on, never expected but always seeing with a newness of youth

It didn't take long before all were aware of her doing what she believed in always seeking the truth

Doing her thing not only chasing rainbows but looking for the treasure at the end

Hope in her eyes that no one can change, a future and seeing everything around the next bend

Never expecting always searching, a smile to melt the world, eyes bright with the future

Look out world with past generations flowing through her veins who could stop her

Oh, the look of surprise and wonderment as she felt the flutter inside her for the first time......

Well done. Wow.

Wisdom in rhyme always gets a WOW
well done poetess Earth.
a lovely tribute to motherhood
may the circle be unbroken *S*

tis never easy being a moth,
tis not easy being the flame.
what some never see is--
sometimes ... most times ...
they are one in the same.

Thank you so much, Janet.  This is sort of just a poem, but who knows, it could all come true.

Nate, I'm sure a dad could do almost as well, except for the first flutter of life.

Tier, thank you
