In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2001-05-16 07:40 PM

I've left my books open for you
to read by candle light,

To read you softly asleep in
your restful days when

Fire danced upon the walls
from the cobblestone fireplace,
as the wood crackled, and sparked

In a shadowy night
fear of the unknown
bother my eyes trying to sleep

The winds rustle the leaves
outside, my window
I feel frozen, searching for warmth
as the toss and turn begins

The clock ticks slower at 3 am
with each second the
annoying sound,
tick tock
tick toc, tic, to, ti,

silence
becomes

A whisper voice,
in my mind
there only faintly

My eyes were blinded
wide shut, to the sight & sound

Of a pillow lover
that haunts my nights

Sitting in the shadows
by candle light

Reading open books

Lauren,

I see each dying day and the birth of yet another.  Yes, I'm an insomniac.  This is lovely, sweet one.  Your work shines, my friend.  It always does.

Lauren,
I hope it is a peaceful sleep. For the read here by the fireplace indeed is enchanting.
