The Water's Trumpet

We could stop time in the instance
of a breath, behind the veil of closed
eyes darkness becomes light in the chase
of spirit's freedom.
There a panoramic view of ageless romance
colors the hope for love to once again find its way.
Along the banks of the "Congaree" all motion seems
to stop, as the steps of yesterday's lovers renew
their path in visions I find within.
Pausing to wonder, how often words of promise
were spoken to rise above the water's trumpet
across the rocks...
one could only hope to find such ardent longing.
Does your hand find its warmth pressed dear to
your heart, contemplation of the sight we've just shared.
Could the water's rush speak of a new dream...
one to be made true.

Coal~
Such serenely sincere thoughts, cascading across the page.

'as the steps of yesterday's lovers renew
their path in visions'

Most enjoyable.
