Alpha

Lift not your eyes, Hester Prynne,
To that, quick Scratch whose bony twig
My casement's arch would thus connect.
He lurks yet
And pains to falsely paint your past
Upon the sunset.
It's peering hearts he would inflame
And so does flesh for them
October's naked sketch with scarlet leaves
Whose dance they wantonly perceive.
The trance is theirs. Remain.
And here, without, on these stone steps
With Me commune.

The first read led to the second read, and the imagery of your words flow freely....

this is excellent, Bob! Thanks for sharing.

Magical in its protectiveness.

A definite keeper, Bob.

I'm trying to recall where I've heard the name Hester Prynne before. Can you help me out Bob?

Also, what kind of glitch?  Could that be why my Restoration has only one comment? Be it a good one.

Sunshine and Corinne...thank you.

Viriginia....You may remember Hester Prynne from Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter"....and the "Scratch" doing his guilty business by suggesting a letter "A" on the window of God. Thanks much for commenting. Bob
