I wrote this sonnet for my mom this morning, Mother's Day.... Now I'm shutting down my computer and going to deliver it to her - She's recovering from serious health problems, and I want her to know how much I appreciate her.  I hope each and every one of you who can see your own mother today does the same.  PiP will still be here - Go tell your mom that you love her....

In days bygone when I was but a child,
Long past yet thoughts of simpler times remain;
Of how your loving touch healed youthful pain.
Vanquished all fears because you kindly smiled,
Embracing hearts of innocence beguiled,
Your sunny ways quelled heartache's falling rain;
Or helped me stand to face the world again,
Unselfish with firm hand yet ever mild.

Mom's love becomes our sweetest memory
Of times in life that only two can share.
Today I too have watched my children grow;
How quickly years surpass we fail to see.
Each moment spent with precious ones in care
Reminds me of our days not long ago

Waft every crest upon your destined sea
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity
Nancy

This is such a wonderful acrostic/sonnet in tribute to your Mother's love Nan ... this is simply a treasure, beautiful sentiments to share on this special day.  I too am fortunate to be able to visit with my mom today ... I treasure every moment we spend. Happy Mother's Day sweet teacher of words ...

And congratulations on 9,000 posts ... you are so very much appreciated here.

Best wishes and prayers for her recovery,
/Kit

Yes, those who have mothers still with them should go and tell them Happy Mothers Day.
This is so sweet and love the picture.

This is the most beautiful gesture for your mother, and she will surely appreciate an acrostic sonnet, which is not the easiest of forms.
A superb poem, and a lovely tribute

Nan - only you with your gift could write something this precious. Well done, and don't let the sand blow too much on the beach...

Fantastic Nan-- really wonderful.
