~* My Valley Of Gold *~

I walk across the hillside, no destination in mind.
A gentle breeze before me, behind me mountains I find.
Spring flowers pose in sunlight, along the meadow's floor,
The scent of new grass growing, so much I do adore.

The quiet sway of newborn leaves, a meditative sound.
A rush of inspiration calls and wraps itself around.
My many thought of wonder of the beauty out our doors,
If only for a moment, we put away our chores.

I lay upon the water bank and watched the mountain spring,
And waited for a lullaby, a bird wished to sing.
I sat alone and thought about how hours slip away,
Before we ever notice the quiet in a day.

I promise to remember this moment when I go.
The simple sound of softness and colors all below.
For if life keeps me hurried and I fail to give the time,
I'll have this moment always, forever in my mind.

Found treasures in this meadow I'd love to share with all,
As I walked across a hillside, no destination called.
The simple things in life are free, for at least I’m told,
And on this day I am very rich in this my valley of gold..

Thanks for the reminder - we have to take the time to look at nature's wonders. You're wonderful!

For those who believed in me -
I send my love.

The valley before you is washed with light,
With gold, brown, blue water, and forest green,
May your travels through be happy and bright
And may you report as well all you’ve seen.

I love poems about nature and this one is surely a masterpiece! I believe nature is our freedom within! Great piece here!

A lovely , lovely poem.  I've been to Banff a couple of times.  I'd like to go back.  It was breathtaking with the mountain looming over the lake.  Joyce

You've made me homesick, not for Canada, but rather for Montana. Similar in some respects. Gentle write.

Saunni: I am so very glad you liked this and yes, nature is our best stress relief for sure.

Joyce: Any time you go back we will have to get together - I would love that!

Julian: I know it makes you homesick, sorry!  There is something about mountains that is so peaceful and beckoning.

Speaking of trip, American dollar is worth $1.64 now!  Is this a great place to visit or what?
