Vision Quest ... Level Three

With the slow elegance
of the swan ...
the grace
of the gazelle ...
and the beauty
of island mist,
she descended
in to the depths
of the sapphire pool.

As the ripples
of awakening
stole a brief caress
and then darted
for the far edges
of solitude
against the banks
of entrapment ...
she gently
slid her palms
over the startled stretchings
of the liquid jewel.

The eyes of heaven
danced merrily
upon the facets
of each droplet ...
hugging her bronze shadow
as they skated
down the sensual slopes
of her form ...
enticing her
onward
into the depths
of cool comfort.

Each strand
of her ebony veil
swayed
just one breath
behind her,
playing a game
of tag
with each ring
of refreshment
as it scurried by.

Luna's kiss
blazed
in the reflection
against the sheen
of her hair
with a soft glow
of promise
for the approaching dawn.

As I reached
to stroke
the silky flesh
of her cheeks ...
my hand
passed through her
as if disturbing
a mirage
in the heat of noon.

She smiled
knowingly
as I stared
in wonderment
at the pulsating ember
in my palm.

Leaning forward,
she whispered ...
"My love,
you now carry
my spirit
with you,
for strength ...
for knowledge ...
for peace ...
with in your heart."
"You have now
the path ...
to your visions quest
and the power
to endure time
for tomorrow's paradise
where
we shall once again
walk together."

She rose
silently
with the morning mist
blowing kisses
of dew
against the horizon
and began her duty
as the warmth
and the light
of this day.

If I tried to copy all my favorite lines, I'd be repeating the entire poem. *S* The images are absolutely incredible and the poem flows beautifully... Your free verse is as exquisite and flawless as your rhymes. *S*

A magnificent gift... a superb poem. *S* Welcome back, cowboy!!!! Saying it's great to read your verse again is the understatement of the millennium! *S*

Mark~ I'm back as promised....and you knew I
would be didn't you...no doubt...and don't
be to hard on my sis...without her you'd be
posting on the backs of
napkins...hehehehehe...ok I'm ready to
behave...well then again...yayayaya

This piece held a special magic of things
not yet seen and visions past...the special
mystery of things unknown and the comfort of
things taking care of themselves...this was
beauty at another level...a soul level...the
mixture of format and writing style added to
the quiet mystery and draw of this...I loved
the images that you wove with the poetry as
only you can do...this one was magic
Mark..and as always your poetry holds a
piece of your heart...it shows my
friend...and shines like lunas midnight gown~

This is one that I hope to hear more
about...it has a mystery to it that only you
can shed the light on...Thank you so much
for always weaving the poetry that touches
so deeply~

Opps!

Ulihelisdi gasohi Mark,
Only a loving spirit who has travelled this journey could possibly write of the bonding between a soul and elements as you have done here.  I wrote about some of the elements today too, but you truly know how to make the reader feel the water and the warmth of the sun! You, sir, truly touched my soul with this piece, and I will read it over, and over again.  I can hardly wait to read more and share in your journey as the Duyugodv ayosdi (seeker of truth).
