I swallowed my pride
with a heave of my chest
as I breathed in deep
and let out a sigh
while my shadow stood
on his tail and laughed wickedly
prejudiced at my predicament
of projections on the mental plane.

Is there a lesson to be learnt,
something to be grasped,
from the  derisive echoes
that my shadow evoked
or should I just let him remain
amidst his howling madcap laughs
ignoring the thorn-like stabs
at the state of my abused mind?

All this time, obtuse angled thoughts
curve into my mind in a confused way
like suggestively pirated lunacy
blowing horns of loud genre
as if trying to force the traffic
inside the brain to clear and give way
as I open a book of logical reasoning
to make sense out of fuzzy decision trees.

My brain is as busy as a bee
ever buzzing with wild thoughts
each coloured in a different shade
each figured in a different shape
maybe I should use my thoughts
and earn the proverbial fast-buck
or maybe I should preserve them
and age them like wine!

And my crawling follower
reared his head out once again
and barked questions like a drill
why let heavy thoughts govern
your pleasant and simple life
why commit harakiri
when you can do without
can't you be content in just being?

I am in search of a convincing reply.

Till then,
thoughts are being etched,
criss-crossedly sketched unevenly
like violent brushstrokes of a painter!

Can't you be content in just being...exactly my thought, of late.  I was meant to read this, thank you!

Sud, this is DEEP ...
powerful images accompany your intensity of expression..
many things to ponder here...
and if ya ever learn the secret to content...
let me know...
I too am still waiting for that "convincing reply"
very cool write my friend
well done poet sir

Nothing gold can stay."

Well, if we were content with just being we wouldn't be poets.
And you Sir are a Poet.

Don't ya just hate those eve's dropping busy body shadows. I usually just curse at them and say shut up flat boy or i'll shine a light on ya.

Ok so I'm losing it.

Pray tell, what is contentment? I thought I'd found the stuff once... but it was only an illusion. *S*

This is wonderful, Sudhir... very intense and gripping!

There's a lot going on with this piece, Sudhir, some really rich thoughts here.
