Lou Reed, they said you died I can’t believe someone would chide I would like to have that someone’s hide For you see, today, I sadly cried I saw the headline at good ole PIPs On my laptop eating at Big Boy Kips The link sausage perched on my lips I couldn’t finish my bacon strips Lou Reed, you is my poet muse Would I be yours if you could choose If two muses could only fuse Would they fit in each other’s shoes Lou Reed you are my Bob Dylan I wish we could read poetry chillin I’ll take a walk if you are willin' On the wild side you get top billin I roll the velvet carpet underground Red but not for Hades bound You developed such a unique sound Words I hope that are profound Goodnight Lou Reed who didn’t die Accused of death from getting high Thank the goodness it was a lie I roll over prone and dry my eye |
