~* A Walk In Spring *~

The smell of lilacs fills the air,
There are bouquets of flowers everywhere.
Daffodils and tulips sway to and fro,
So many shades of green starting to show.

I walk by a dog barking, “Open this gate!”
My parents aren’t coming home ‘til late.
I stop to pet a cat basking in the sun,
And laugh at children in the park having fun.

I spot two old men with stories to share,
Planting seeds where ground once was bare.
Their wives in straw hats tending the weeds,
Trying to fulfill their lives with need.

I feel so joyous at this world around,
Home I go with the spring happiness I found.
Breathing in the air of a fresh new spring,
Is there really any more glorious thing?

Lady In White: I saw these two little Italian men chattering away in their garden and had to find this picture, and I did!  Once I had the picture the muse did the rest!

Beautiful!!! I loved it. Daffodils always were the first flowers to bloom in Michigan where I grew up so I associate them with spring.

kitkat: Thank you for "seeing" spring!

Marge: Double joy to you too!

Poet de Vine: I remember being in Detroit once, during daffodil season and yes, they are quite a sight there (bigger than ours)!
