Pure Light

if I
could paint
I’d paint you...

stars

I’d paint you
right where
you are
I’d use
the colors
you blend
in smile
this empty canvas
fills
all the while
I’d use the stroke
as you touch
skin
with every heart beat
begin again
a pale southern moon
in a black
skied night
caresses you in
love’s pure
reflected light
this type of light
will never
diminish
so your lovely portrait
will never
be finished

"...the rest is silence" (Hamlet)       Shakespeare

I think to do a portrait for someone is a lovely idea, I enjoyed this very much.

There are many soft images here...yet it seems a purposeful strength underlies.  The portrayal of light ever changing, never wavering.
