The Ride

I hold my breath
as I take my spin
again my turn
on the world’s whirlwind
panic sets in
I grab to steady myself
but I have neatly placed
everything on the shelf
chaos now born
as I see things pass by
perception strained
blurred before my eyes
I am now deaf
can not hear a sound
another revolution’s distort
takes me round
screaming in silence
I beg for composure
from prying eyes
naked in this exposure
rotating through reality fast
my aching head feels light
sweat pours from my skin
in paralyzed frozen fright
reeling, whirling then twisting
when I’m about to drop
things spin around again
then suddenly stop
I push through the crowd
in your eyes I look stern
with a heavy heart
knowing, it will soon be your turn

"...the rest is silence" (Hamlet)       Shakespeare

"with a heavy heart
knowing, it will soon be your turn"

this reminds me of a too scary ride at the county fair when I was a kid.
this whole thing is scary, lady.

like that ending, tho ... kind of grabbed the reader by the throat.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.          Wm Wordsworth  (I Wondered Lonely as a Cloud)

I always feel "what goes around, comes around" and sometimes things just have a way of working out if you step off the merry-go-round and just watch........Helen, I enjoyed this so much this morning, you have no idea!

No, it's not more fun to watch someone else go through something, that's not what I meant, I meant watch your life...your day.....life.....and let it happen
