Not For Me

I gave my heart, would have given more
but have learned, it matters not.
My thoughts, once saved, released in time,
words that meant alot.

It's not for me to be in love
ill- favored, I guess, am I.
Anybody, would do, but me,
I felt these words in sigh.

A warning or two, I should have known
a fantasy t'was all.
The first and last my heart would speak,
I'm done, I'm finished, this call.

Too hard it is, after thirty years,
to allow another heart shared.
I tried, lost out, I'm not anybody,
in love, once thought, once cared.

A tantrum thrown, the walls heard screams
of wasted feelings, strong.
Tinted now in shades of blue,
this night will last too long.

I gave my heart, would have given more,
but love turned it's back on me.
Behind this wall, caged in wait,
some day, perhaps, to be.

"The worst prison would be a closed heart".
...Pope John Paul II

You express your sorrow in words very clearly. One must remember it always matters to the right partner.

it's a miserable feeling to feel trapped inside of a wall, worse to be slammed up against it......tear it down and keep writing!!!

I have come to the conclusion that it is not love that fails us...we fail love...and sometimes no matter how hard we try to experience the beauty of love we realize we only have control over our thoughts, desires and emotions and not the object of our love...James

Very emotional write, Wynter...wonderful expression of these feelings.  And, every so often, not too much, I send out a hug to someone if I think they just might need one...so, *HUGS* to you, and real love WILL find you one day, m'friend...

to be with you...
I've tried to hide my passion,
but it's just no use...
piece by piece I lose it
when you walk in the room...

Intensely painful... and all too familiar. Well written!

Maureen, we can only be who we are. . .no more. . .and if love deems us worthy, then we find love. . . it has its own time. . .

sad and powerful words. . .

shaking my head and agreeing with Sven....love is what it is and we can only
be grateful that we had it while it was here, and not tearful that it went away.........for we knew love, which is a great gift..........I ramble......sorry.
Felt this Maureen.

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.
