In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2001-05-06 09:10 PM

You come to me in the
silent night
'speaking' silence of a
distant dream

It is this moment that
matters, it leads to
nothing

Only my frail ego
and the ruins of a
heart that pretends
to dance

I had imagined
tracing your skin
breathing you in,
to a memory
of learning how to
all over again

In short measuring
all the words
that were spoken
between us

"Looking at the moon
thinking of you"

Filling these white nights
to lay less claim to you

Discretion between
pretend and love

Exchanging calculations
we write, we think, we write

Accidental Grace
Discriminates hunger
with random affections
except my own
the fond mistrusted

Love me with your
wisdom ,touch me with your
words

I let out the last
secret the neighbors will
whisper

How from this
wreckage do we rebuild
ourselves?

Greeneyes,
    I let out the last
   secret the neighbors will
          whisper

These words really hit me.  I don't know what you meant by them, but they meant alot to me.  Hope this is "just" a poem, but if not, smile and keep looking up.  Hugs,  ME

What a sad little thought from such a pretty face !

Even your 'melancholy' is delicately done.

Very nice.. especially liked this..

You've never written anything I did not find very good and insightful =
This (THIS) - IS EXCEPTIONAL -There are so many truly great lines/thoughts (witness the replies above I will not quote twice) = Needless to say a poem I will treasure -
Last but not least - you are in my prayers  and especially  if there is any truth for you in what I've read

Take a few words from a woman who has been in the wreckage, ashes rise to be a Phoenix, and we, as women, rise as the beautiful mourning dove......we doovercome...we really do.

A fabulous poem. How from the wreckage do we rebuild ourselves?  Well, if that is a question, the answer lies within your own hearts, for you always have had the answer, just re-phrase the question into a statement, We rebuild ourselves from this wreckage by.......... if you can not fill in the blanks you move on. Like I said, a simply fabulous poem.

Lauren, this is really beautiful, and yearning......"Love me with your wisdom, touch me with your words"......I believe that only the soul of a poet could long so to be touched with wisdom and words.  I felt this one deeply.....nice writing, my friend!

Live...Love...Be grateful for both!!
