ever remember the past
as though some small
memory would drift by
watching you kneel in the dust.
ever remember it being
more then it was
hoping for the best
and finding it lost.
did you think beyond
your ideals that fell
that night upon the shore
your rememberance is pure.
to find the thought
is gone away
you stand alone
this very day.
so sing the angels
that fall on your tears
and gather them quick
to fill those years.
the ones you failed
to live your life
to live for others
that took your rights.
then drift to heaven
this day is done
kiss the stars softly
they welcome you home.
