Today - dreamlike -
I smelt the flowers -
Geraniums bright red in flats
Saw dark purple and white pansies
Look at me like newborn pandas
Luxuriated in the fire of azaleas
And the delicacy of dogwoods in bloom

No season in this respect
Compares to spring
I've watched the crabapple trees
Blossom and shift to green
The flowering plum
I still await lilacs and their fragrance
All the hues from white to purple

Summer will soon be here
Roses will bud and blossom
With the scents of romance
Each brings thoughts of you
Each reminds me how much
How very much
You've made me appreciate life
Each makes me long for you
As never before

The first duty of love is to listen.

Sometimes we have to step back for a moment to smell the flower's.  For each day brings a NEW bloom to appreciate and enjoy its' creator. Enjoy the aroma's my friend. LP

Day in Day out...My love for you grows.
Without you, my life would be empty. So I hold my mustard seed of faith in us.

Uh oh! Pandas and the anticipation of lilaces in the same poem? You must know how I love this. Fantastic job.

I LOVE 'shift to green' ...
what lovely imagery you've displayed.
