In jail you have a long trail
Ahead of you hoping to get on the train
Of miracle from God above
Wishing for His love
To give you one more chance
At life where you can dance
The perfect step of a gentleman
And you can't wait when
It will happen
Out of the playpen
You will fend for yourself
Never going back on the shelf
Like a book waiting to be read
Coming alive eating your bread
A free man

Highly descriptive. Poetically written.

Thank You Marge, Tier and Julian
Quite a few of my son's friends are spending time in jail i knew them when they were younger and it is hard for me to see them in there and at the end of the month i will find out if my own son will end in the slammer.
I do realize it is for their good because they do not seem to want to change their ways of dangerous behavior, driving drunk.

This is a beautiful but heart wrenching poem...and being from La. I know just how common it (Drunk driving) is (and no people, I don't have a license) I don't know what the solution is, we live in this culture that literally GIVES AWAY booze and charges DOUBLE for water--I have often looked around at the many festivals and thought, "now how do they expect all of these people to get home?" Designated driver WILL work, if ya can find someone willing to be designated. I could go on about this forever, as ya can see, but I'll just close that I loved this thought provoking piece and my prayers are with you and your loved ones.
