A Little Bird died today
The Little Bird got in my way
I hit it with my car
I was enjoying a nice cigar

At first I thought it's not my fault
But later thought,
I'm the one racing down the asphalt

Always rushing at a fast pace
Trying to keep up with the rat race
Always in a hurried rush
Made the Little Bird look like mush

I'm sorry Little Bird for what i did
I feel like a stinky squid
From now on i will watch my speed
For Little Birds are a dying breed

Lets give Little Birds some space
Before the Little Birds erase
It doesn't matter how fast we go
There will always be time for the next show

By the way:
I did pick up the Little Bird
Buried it, but couldn't say a word
I had a knot deep in my throat :[

The same thing happened to me the other day...I think birds liked it better when there weren't any cars and airplanes and baseballs...James

I saw a birdie fall from his/her nest, maybe thought it could fly. Stayed on the ground with all the big birdies squalking about. Then I heard an awful sound, and saw a possum running away with little birdie in its mouth. Now thats how my day started!

This happened to me last summer. I hit a crow. (bad omen there). There were two on the highway... far enough apart to drive inbetween. But I guess being so close to my car scared them and one flew off in the wrong direction towards me and hit my windshield. It bothered me the whole way home. Now I avoid birds on the road as much as possible.....
