In Your Poetic Mind

Thank you for always understanding
In Friendship I give this to you,
and others who have lost loved ones along the way.

He whispers to me in
Shades of winter
Interlacing through
The gentle night
Straight to my heart
Drifting in perfect
Stillness caressing my soul

If I close my eyes,
I can see you, feel
You, touch you,
Drink in your sweet essence
Of my memories
Reaching far beyond
The shell of my pain
And heartache

We, one soul
Shining our way
Across an endless
Sea, with hope
I know, no
Matter how I roam
I will carry your love
Close like a flame
In shades of winter
Upon the stars
**********

In  your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems
You dance inside my chest, where no one sees
you, and that sight becomes this art.   Rumi

Nothing Beautiful In This World
Is Ever Really Lost
All Things Beloved
Live on In Our Hearts...Forever."

Lauren, thank you, thank you, thank you...
your timing is uncanny(but then thats no surprise)*S*
I just returned home a while ago from a long drive looking for those stars...(needing those stars)
this is so beautiful...
you do this so very well, the way you write so soft spoken...
the way your words wash over the reader and bring a sense of serenity and calm...
tis your gift of pen my sweet friend.
Thou we may have found a connection thru sorrow, we have also found the quiet comfort that comes from knowing some one else understands.
thank you from my butterfly promised heart for this gift of poetry.

the closing quote is divine

TAKE THIS RAIN
Jackson Browne

It used to be there were two sets of footprints in the sand
And there were two silhouettes in the sunset hand in hand
But now here beside the sea are the footprints of three
And I can't find my own
Among the directions they're all going

Baby it's alright
Break this chain of love and madness
It's alright
Take this rain as your new address
It's alright
Take this rain
It's alright
Take this rain

You're going to hear my voice in the morning calling your name
And know my love and my desperation were one and the same
And where our footprints used to be
There'll be nothing but the sea
And the tide and the wind and the open sky
And the unbroken horizon

Baby it's alright
Break this chain of love and madness
It's alright
Take this pain and all this sadness
It's alright
Make this rain into your fortress
It's alright
Take this rain
It's alright
Take this rain
It's alright
Take this rain
You're going to be free

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SKY BLUE AND BLACK
Jackson Browne
In the calling out to one another
Of the lovers up and down the strand
In the sound of the waves and the cries
Of the seagulls circling the sand
In the fragments of the songs
Carried down the wind from some radio
In the murmuring of the city in the distance
Ominous and low
I hear the sound of the world where we played
And the far too simple beauty
Of the promises we made
If you ever need holding
Call my name, I'll be there
If you ever need holding
And no holding back, I'll see you through
Sky blue and black
Where the touch of the lover ends
And the soul of the friend begins
There's a need to be separate and a need to be one
And a struggle neither wins
Where you gave me the world I was in
And a place I could make a stand
I could never see how you doubted me
When I'd let go of your hand
Yeah, and I was much younger then
And I must have thought that I would know
If things were going to end
And the heavens were rolling
Like a wheel on a track
And our sky was unfolding
And it'll never fold back
Sky blue and black
And I'd have fought the world for you
If I thought that you wanted me to
Or put aside what was true or untrue
If I'd know that's what you needed
What you needed me to do
But the moment has passed by me now
To have put away my pride
And just come through for you somehow
If you ever need holding
Call my name, I'll be there
If you ever need holding
And no holding back, I'll see you through
You're the color of the sky
Reflected in each store-front window pane
You're the whispering and the singing
Of my tires in the rain
You're the hidden cost and the thing that's lost
In everything I do
Yeah and I'll never stop looking for you
In the sunlight and the shadows
And the faces on the avenue
That's the way love is
That's the way love is
That's the way love is
Sky blue and black
you speak to me in riddles
and you speak to me in rhymes
my body aches to breathe your breath
your words keep me alive
Lauren,
This saddened me.  This is touching.  I wish you both well.  I wish I could say more.
Greeneyes,
this is softly spoken, but the impact is there so strongly, so sustainingly.
Greeneye's, this is truely the voice of the heart speaking, as only the heart can speak with such softness.
