Gimme some feed back

Being hungry is rough

You gave me some wheat
Barley and grain
Then you took it away
And I’m goin’ insane

Sugar cube or some oat
Don’t tell me I’m shiny
And have a nice coat

I’m a horse and a poet
Your praise I can bare it

getting feedback's awfully dear
be it praise or be it jeer
at least one knows one's read.

Enjoyed your poem here, clever way of making your point. So many poets to read and only so much time or stamina, but we keep hangin' in there, don't we?
