lightning’s blue white flash
brightens night sky with fireworks
complete with thunder

reflections of fire light
flickers in your ember eyes
in magnetic attraction

the voice of the storm
echoes boldly through canyons
as squall line arrives

secure in your loving arms
desires inflame
as you whisper in my ear

summer surrenders
electrically persuaded
fall starts with a bang

the touch of your lips on mine
hearts beating in sync
electrifying passions

inevitably
fall proclaims it’s full intent
trees moan in the wind

entwined together as one
rapturous moment
crying out that I love you

a distant thunder
rain falls softly on the roof
blanketed by clouds

I love this Koko!!

*sigh*. . . nothing like having a storm inside to rival the storm outside. . .

wonderful. . .

as someone who loves a good thunderstorm, and Lord knows we have them here in Indiana, I really got into this poem!

Whee! Up until the time I read this poem, I didn't particularly enjoy thunder and lightning storms. I may move to Indiana...or perhaps not on second thought. Terrific writing.

I truly appreciate everyone's comments  on this choka.
I find the choka a delightful form of oriental poetry to express a mixture of nature and romance such as this and am working on writing some more in this form.
The haiku, tanka abd choka forms have become my favorite, perrhaps because of living in an oriental culture in Hawaii.
Yes, the ambience of a rainstorm is quite romantic in my opinion
Julian,I can thank you for re-inspiring me to the choka form by your own marvelous recent post in it. Thanks to all for reading this piece andtaking the time to comment. Aloha!
