I don't want to be
the roots
that bemoan
the lack of sunlight
in its vicinity

I don't want to be
the branch
that looks wistfully
at the wind
hoping it will be taken
instead of the leaf

I don't want to be
the leaf
that grumblingly disappears
beneath the surface
while the fruit blossoms
via its seeds

I don't want to be
the tree
that stares helplessly
(towering it may be)
at the birds
that migrate south and brace life

I want to embrace wider
I want to learn contentment
I want to ride on the tides of fate
smile at whatever life hurls upon me
i want to rejoice in the living of my life
