Here I go again, thinking about what might have been,
Struggling to move on, yet all the while moving back
to what might have been,
How can one let go of yesterday's and let today
start anew, today comes as sure as the sun rises,
but yesterday keeps reliving it's face smiling
so vividly in my mind,
Today is still, passionately my mind imagines
it as if it is now, which has long ago disappeared,
funny how the mind seems connected to the heart,
How you think out loud, telling yourself to move on,
Could life make me breathe again? wake me up,
To here and now, for what was then is still then,
I must no longer half pretend, if only I could
somehow develop amnesia in just this one part of my life, Then maybe today would be today.
Then yesterday would stay where it belongs,
out of my heart and mind.

the past is what makes now becomes the present. But if the past had not happened, the future depends on the present. LP

Selective amnesia seems so nice at times. Well-developed thoughts you've managed to incorporate into your writing.

I find myself holding on hoping that she is interested but likes to move much slower...so I try to back up and move slower...and finally if this is not the case I know that if they have let go and moved on I must respect there wishes...those shared dreams require two equally committed participants...James

you and seem to be on the same wavelength these days...
Im learning slowly that the secret is not to try to forget, but to try and learn from the mistakes and losses so we dont repeat them and then become stronger in that knowledge,
but also to look for the good that came from that time, and try to remember, everything happens for a reason.
Well written and expressed poetic ponderings RB...
this is a bittersweet and sincere reflection of your heart.

I miss you so much I cant stand it
Seems like my heart is breaking in two
My head says no, but my soul demands it
Everything I do reminds me of you

thanks, sometimes I guess the past is worth remembering to gain something for the future, though I personally am still trying to ponder that particuliar thought, I guess sometimes we all would like to run backwards instead of forwards,  Latin I do agree with you, what we do now and then makes who we are,
Janet the aspect of gaining from the positive is what keeps me going, because there were alot of good times there,
Masked Intruder I do wish I could have selective Amnesia would be alot easier, funny how I forget so many things but not this.
James, your so right and this is just what has happened here, but memories still linger, as if they just happened, know what I mean?
Irish Rose, your right this does make me sad, but in the same essence happy hard to explain, I guess it's the things I learned from it.

I was exactly where you are not so long ago, and I still have my days when it seems I can think of nothing else...for the most part, though, it is getting easier.  Good expression of feeling here!

thanks Sven, hopefully somewhere there is a lesson.

JLR, sometimes I wonder if i'll ever not remember, I guess a part of it will always linger.
