Prayer for the slowly dying (#5)

Peace

Lord I am reticent to say
that today
I feel alone.
Friends, yes I do have a few
and I am fortunate that by your grace,
mercy and love
You
head the list,
but
this morn, help and consolation,
I have abandoned and
inside a nearly impenetrable shell,
I sit and cry.
Kleenex after kleenex my
my lack of strength pours forth-

Lord, please do not
allow me the privilege of final closure.
Never cease to listen
to my pleadings, nonsensical as they may be,
and instead of what I ask for-
Lord I pray, give me
what I need.

***

Prayer for the slowly dying (#6)

yes Lord I am listening

Someone must have called the police
and reported an accident with injuries
'cause I sort of remember talking to a paramedic.
And as I open my eyes and try to move
these very very real pains tells me
that I am still blessed with life
because I could have just as easily been
dead.

Lord if you are trying to tell me something
I am listening.

An infected tooth on top of stitches, bruises
and whiplash…is more than I can take.
Lord if anyone knows that, it is you.
If the pain weren't so unbearable
I would scream at the nerve of the HMO's
for charging a $75 emergency room co pay,
but at 3:30 am pain
takes precedence.

Lord this time I have no screams left
I humbly hear you, loud and clear.
I know I had been complaining
about how rough my life is
and sometimes I forgot to stop
and take count of my blessings…
and Lord,
if it was my attention you were after
let me assure you
you have it-
I need you now, more than ever.

and yes Lord, I am listening…

man see things like that happen to me and
I swear I will change and listen but I usually get right back into the bad swing of things. You go yuh and this was awesome with great lines throughout.

I love the title. We are slowly dying from the time of birth. Many is the reason why death hastens it chariot to our door. One thing for sure, prayer of thanksgiving  and for a clear message for will, is certainly in order.

jellybeans, I don't know how many times I have tried to TELL the good Father in heaven how I want things to be.  I have figured out he has his own plan for me.  It is still had to let Him have his way with me.  I really liked both of your works and glad you are back.  Soft hugs,  ME

As one of those "few" friends (ahem... ain't I enough???? LOL) I add my prayer...
"Lord, what she NEEDS includes a few things going right and a bit of joy to hold onto... though I believe she deserves so much more and I sure do wish you'd just bathe her in happiness (and if you're really busy right now, I have a list... just fill it as written *S*). But even though I think you could be a bit kinder, I do send my sincere gratitude and thanks that she is still blessed with life... for she sure blesses mine."

Well done, Lovey... welcome back!
