I’ll gladly be your black sheep
reads a better story
the color
so deep, so true to self
compare it to the one…you call white
isn’t white at all
stained by, always trying to hide
every little imperfection, flaw
even with constant attention, care
at best it tries to be
for a moment or two
until life leaves a mark
still it struts as though it’s pure

So go on, pretend you’re above me
deny the reality of life you yourself taught me
your partner in my birth was not my choice
he was yours
but for father…not for jailer

Let the others receive your praise
relate their stories to your friends
any tear it may cause me
will be short-lived…
my life, by my own choice
has long been
far away from home
there really isn’t any conflict here
we should simply
leave one another
alone

JLR- In any relationship we become "stain" with the other's flaws and expectations forever. Thanks for sharing. I liked it!

Oh this is truly sad.  It is well written but to me, very sad.  Joyce
