You touched me
with a forever
I can never have
One that was never
meant to be
and to taste it
even for an instant
is more painful
with the knowing
that ties barely bound
will remain
to remind
there are no answers
only fate's twisted humor
giving visions
of a life never to be led
emotions, unable to give
to a heart that beats
in rhythm with my own

~SEA~

* thank you PK, for the heartbreaking inspiration*

~SEA~ with compassion that one can only admire. For the love and inspiration you give to others is a symthony of music to my ears. I thank you for being there for someone you hold dear.

SEA I related to this so very well, from beginning to end.  I did wonder about the title, because both words nearly mean the same....the poem is so related to something I've been going through and it goes in my library.

Sea--yes, sometimes life does have a quirky sense of humor...but maybe there will be another life...to do again what wasn't done before.  Enjoyed this poem.

SEA, you ask an incredible question here. Which is better? To taste the unattainable or not? I can hear Dulcinea singing....
