My mind, it is a canvas
I paint, not with a brush, but with my words
I may be describing my beautiful garden
Or the vivid colors of the birds

Only a glimpse do you see through my writing
Of the reality that everyday I see
But know that all that I write about
Comes from the heart and soul of me

It doesn't matter what it is I am writing
You will see the image right from my eyes
I'm hoping all the poems about my garden
Bring the beauty right before your eyes

From the colors I describe in my flowers
To the fairies roaming through my garden bed
And the dew that glistens like diamonds
As a spiral around the spider's web

I just hope that I paint a real picture
That I take you on a journey of delight
And I hope that the images I portray to you
Will stay with you throughout the day and night

This is lovely...
wonderful imagery and cadence blended to
paint for us the vision you wish to convey..
all wrapped up in a sincere message...
well done

There are two lasting bequests
that we can hope to instill in our children
one is roots ...
the other ... wings.

Sue, you do write from the heart and this is one thing I really like about your poetry. You have a wonderful way of weaving ideas which tends to bring your words to life. It is a pleasure to know you and watch your writing get better and better.
