Lullaby

I'll sing you a lullaby
so smooth and tenderly
upon a stream of caressin’ love
I hold you near to me.

I cradle you on my lap
your head against my chest
a tiny thumb into your mouth
you need a little rest .

Your eyes become so heavy now
from fairies’ sleepy sand
warm feelings fills my heart
you're safe in loving hands

A gentle kiss on both your eyes
oh how I enjoy your face
within a smile of Angel's bliss
captured it all in my embrace.

I'll sing for you a lullaby
so smooth and tenderly
always sing this song for you
whenever you need love from me.

Such tender and sweet words of love that only a mother can give.  Beautifully done.

Charisma~
The loveliest memories are nestled in mother's lullaby.
This is just so tender.
I love it and thank you for it.

Charisma this is wonderful!!
What a lovely gift this is...perhaps for a grandchild?
A sweet, sincere declaration of love given
So great to find your name here this morn too
well done poetess!!

There are two lasting bequests
that we can hope to instill in our children
one is roots ...
the other ... wings.

And you'll never see anything lovelier than this little trusting face.  A beautiful lullaby.

Thank you all for your warm reply. I am so glad that you liked it.

JM, no there's no grandchild to sing for, but I was inspired when I view photo's from the good old days.....and melancholy overwhelmed me...brings me back to these precious feelings.

Once again thanks for your warm reply, I appreciate them very much, I only wish that I could share more time inhere as I miss all of you very much.
