STILL

I’ve been rushing about missing the point
Neither looking about me or listening
As HE speaks to me in accents clear
And suddenly while I was speeding into life
HE stopped me with a single word
HE said my name
Softly it dropped over me like a mantle
HE called me
Gently I heard HIS words
And I stopped

STILL

I’ve been scurrying about careening into life
Not taking care what or where I stumbled
As HE looked at me with clear eyes
And as if the world had ceased to be there
HE halted me with his gentle gaze
HE spoke to me
Like being spun into a mist of love
HE called me
Softly without haste
And I halted

STILL

I’ve rushed headlong into inconsequence
Not seeing my life flowing quickly by me
As HE held out his hand to me
And everything else just evaporated away
HE made me stand quiet still
HE touched me
As soft as a breezes whisper
HIS hand held me
Quietly with love
And I paused

STILL

Marsha

Take back the hope you gave,- I claim
Only a memory of the same

Smiles, Marsha...Enjoyed this very much. And speaking of presence....I've missed yours.

Powerful work Mushy! Well done free verse in my opinion! Keep up the good work my dear friend!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

What a beautiful verse to greet this morning with Marsha!  You've reminded me to slow down ... breathe ... and take that time to pause and listen. Thank you for this lovely reminder, inspirational and beautifully written!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Marsha~
This is the loveliest piece I will read this day !

'I’ve rushed headlong into inconsequence
Not seeing my life flowing quickly by me
As HE held out his hand to me
And everything else just evaporated away
HE made me stand quiet still
HE touched me
As soft as a breezes whisper
HIS hand held me
Quietly with love
And I paused

STILL

How beautifully you've expressed the need to pause
and listen for His voice.
Beautiful, sweet lady.
Thank you so much for sharing.
(I keep your candle burning)
Love to you~

Still the lovely poet!!! Still a wondrous message...still the truth.

a couple tiny typos, I think:

(not sure which you meant here)
quiet(,) still  or  quite still

and breeze's whisper

otherwise an impeccable write with a lovely message, so charateristic of mushy marsha

still, you are always
still you shall be
still, you are light
still you are to me

this is wonderful. . . and you know that I love it. . .
