"Drought, drought," they cry.  I wonder why.
Could Northwest Puget Sound be dry?
Adding my own prayers to theirs,
I called upon the Man Upstairs.

I have lived here over fifty years.
The dryest things have been my tears,
And moaning over lack of rain,
Just sounds a little bit insane.

The Lord was listening to our pleas.
He said, "I'll fix that with great ease."
He turned the faucets on so high
That now I'm asking myself why.

Why was I such a silly dunce?
Not adding, "Lord, not all at once."

Joyce,

I loved this.  I brought a smile.   I'm about to start praying for rain also.  It's terribly dry here.

Joyce~
Precious ending ! !
I do the rain chant of my heritage
and the ancients seem to do what they want anyway !
Greatly enjoyed this one !

This reminds me of the phrase ... "be careful what you wish for", LOL. It has been so terribly dry, what a bizarre season for some areas.  Thank you for the smiles Joyce ... very nicely written, I enjoyed this!

Best wishes,
/Kit

The rain can be soothing, making all things anew. I enjoyed it.
