Between the Lines

The Blues, They Are

The blues, they are a part of me
encompassing my many shades
the palest of the morning skies
to indigo as daytime fades.

Sing out they do, in words of time
from yesterdays, tomorrows wants
And fill my mind with promises
behind the shadows, held in haunt.

They tune me in and turn me round
and dance me in their verses sad.
Within their hold a tear will flow
down softened cheek, 'til moisture clad.

In daytime blues,  my passions rise,
as words are sung, in lilt of birds.
I float the clouds, the sun beams guide
a poet's rush is felt and heard.

As twilight enters, siren song,
enticed am I, enduced, ensnared.
Temptation beats its rhythm lure
as midnight blues cry feelings shared.

Enter blue-black moonlit skies
once again I'm shadowed deep,
to dance the music of my dreams
and sway with them in arms of sleep.

I'm shaded blue, from morn 'til night
melodic lines, and in between
embracing me in many strains
of Once Upon..a Blue Moon, scene.

Once in a blue moon does poetry like this come around.....I love the blues and I enjoyed this very much.

Wynter - remarkable words you write of my passion, the blues. This is most enticing and romantic.

'As twilight enters, siren song,
enticed am I, enduced, ensnared.
Temptation beats its rhythm lure
as midnight blues cry feelings shared.'

I sing blues from a warm heart, happy, sad, it doesn't matter, for the rhythm owns my being.
