Mowing Miracle
Virginia Salter

Mowing, mowing, cutting grass
without falling on my ......
I must tell you, it’s none too sweet,
I do not think well on my feet.

Lowered mower close to ground
so I can cut lawn farther down
little close to flower bed
heard a rock run ‘round its head.

Tilted mower just enough
to lift it off the rocks and dust
gave it space to ‘scape, to fly
quickly, quickly through the sky.

Loud rumbles, shots seem fired
flipped switch, motor retired
senses back, I look around
glass all over on the ground.

No wounds in me,  I thank the Lord
I chance to look where glass was poured
from the window glasses, four feet by five
thanking God I’m still alive.

A gaping hole, say ten by twenty
on the outer pane’s a plenty
five inch diameter hole within
where the rocks did take a spin.

Soon I’ll get the verdict friend
how much I’ll get to spend
yet the price will not be too much to pay
for I’m a live to see this day.

Glad to know that you're all right. You should just scatter wild flower seeds and tell everybody your going the all natural look this year.

I almost put artifical turf down, I swear.  I have a "hate-on" for weeds, and my neighbours laugh at me with my weed gun, as I yell out, "gotca!".  Great poem and fun too.
